I have just recently traded my custom 02 Night Train for a 07 Road glide (will never go back to a softail agin!) I am just having a little trouble finding the right helmet to ride with. With my softail I just wore a non DOT scull cap, but when I switched to a touring bike I figured I would go to a DOT aproved helmet. If I wear a helmet with a visor on it the helmet flutters. If I take the visor off the fluttering stops. When I put on a flip up clear sheild this also make the helmet flutter because of the built in visor on the shield. What kind of helmets are others wearing, full face, 3/4 helmets, 1/2 helmets, face shields or not?
Hey Plane , don't know much about the airflow on a RoadGlide , but maybe the Fork Air Baffle would help.
Part # 58520-79TC stops alot of up-flow from the fuel tank area on my EG Standard.
The listing shows it should fit yours also.
Just get a helmet that "fits you" the best and I'm sure the guys around hear can help you more.
I ended up getting a HJC half helmet , only because the Harley helmets would not fit (my head) very well.
I do like the visor especially going into the sun near the end of the day on a ride.
good riding.

Does the air baffle reduce, or re-direct airflow away from the engine? Has anyone noticed an increase/decrease in oil temperature after installing the baffle?
Hey RD , supposedly the baffle came as standard equipment on all 2000 and earlier touring models.
It fits from 1980 and up, although some may have been black not chrome.
Now it's an accesory (imagine that).
I don't have any real evidence that the engine runs warmer, although it directs the air towards the front cylinder slightly lower and more forcefully than without it.
It works pretty well for rider comfort though.

3/4 with face shield for winter, 1/2 HD helmet with ear flaps for spring and fall and my favorite 1/2 carbonfiber helmet (DOT) for summer. Check this link out.
