yes compleatley controlable--same low profile head--BUT i would still use the springs with 4 servos --they could be timed different

Nothin' wrong with that, but I was just thinkin' a little further along. Use bi-directional servos & you can eliminate the springs & their resistance. Easier to open & close the valve, less wear on the servo, & you can vary the timing in both directions.

GREAT we have intelligent people here!!!!
what do you guys think about electromagnetic shocks??
turn the key on the magnets engergize the car or bike raises and your riding on a magnetic feild--seems like the ride would be great and also completely tuneable!!

the electromagnetic idea would and could be used insted of servos on the valves---just a small pluse would push the valve down and up,also completely tuneable!!

Yes the tech is out there. Completely vairiable valve timing. Just think, the valve timing would be adjusted to get the best possible performance from the get go but once you have reached cruising speed etc it would back off just enough to give you the best milage etc. It would work in conjunction of a completely smart fuel system also were the fuel managament is actually completely controlled to work with the valve timing.

Or even have a push button for power or economy curves int he fuel system and valve timing.

But then you would add the complications of added electronics that might fail giving yet another reason to be stranded on the side of the road.

But it is not a totally new idea. It has already been thought about and tried in the automotive world.

Oh and this would completely do away with the need for compression releases.

Or how about Harley just giving a cam head setup to get the most possible power out of these motors while using a fuel managment system that is senses everything from air pressure, air temp, airflow into the intake, engine temp, power demands via the throttle position along with the 02 sensors to control everything.

People bitch about the "fly by wire" throttles in the newer Touring models... Could you imagine the uproar if Harley actually did something like this?

if you have a fuel injected motor, you already have electronic valves in the injectors. They lift the valve (pintle) up and pressurized fuel goes in.
How long and when they open is controlled by the ECM.

Yes but can you imagine the uproar the first time a steam engine train set a pasture on fire. Progress has to start somewher, and if it hadn't we would still be walking and living caves and we wouldn't be discusing this on the internet
