Just my experience but when I adjusted the angle (upward) with my 2010 Rg bars, the angle of the grips was completely off. I rolled my handlebars forward as a temporary solution until I could have my new bars shipped and it was so uncomfortble on my wrists that the bike sat for a week until the bars came in. I dont know if this is the route you are going but just my experience.
