Default Adjusting handlebars

Had the Harley shop install some 12" yaffe bars I am wanting to set them back a little more for comfort . Never messed with a street glide before so I am not familiar with the procedure to get to the bracket to loosen the bolts to adjust the bars . I did the search but caint find anything on how or what to loosen or remove to adjust the bars . Would anyone be able to tell me how and what is the procedure, it's a 17 sgs . Thanks

This is based on my Rushmore SG
Place a towel over the tank - there is a small bolt by the top of each front turn signal - remove them both and then you should be able to remove the plastic cover that sits just below the ignition - from there you'll see a the top of the handlebar clamp that you can get to with a extended hex socket - losses the ones closest to you, rotate handlebars to desired angle - snug down - make sure the bars do not hit the tank - tighten, reinstall plastic cover and reinstall bolts...

I thank you very much for trying to help , I had removed the two small screws earlier but the black plastic cover won't come out . The ignition switch and the fuel tank prevents me from getting the cover out enough to be able to reach the two Allen head bolts to loosen them . If the cover would come out may could reach the Allen bolts . I thank you again for trying to help .

Looking at your bike , I too had some D&D's with hi flow screaming eagle breather and the yaffe 12's on my new streetglide . I see we have pretty much the same setups .

once you get in there ( on 13's and earlier we remove the ignition switch- check youtube so you don't lock things up by mistake)..

you can make a tool:

some clamping mechanisms use set screws ( aftermarket) or set pins- if your bars don;t move easily after loosening slightly the 2 closer bolts, check for set screws or pins.

It will come out - wiggle it, move the handlebars left, right, center - you'll find the sweet spot - you might have a few plug in connections that you might have to undo but you won't have to remove the ignition or the tank - it will bend a little, no worries it won't break.....

I got it out , loosened the front of the fuel tank and lifted it enough to slide it out then just as told I cut an Allen wrench down short . The bars feel much better . Thanks for the help !
