I did the best mod ever on my Harley. I traded in the Heritage Classic and got a 2011 Electra Glide Ultra Limited.
The wife can finally ride in comfort! The dystrophy she has in her legs would hurt too much on the Heritage. Now she can almost fall asleep on the back. Except that she is usually playing with the radio from the back seat.
Still getting used to the ABS brakes, they stop the bike damn quick! But my favorite part is the 103 engine, man does that thing get up and go!
congrats man, i'm kind of in the same boat as you. i want to buy a tourer for the comfort but im not selling my sporty. I'd rather be broke than part with that. It just sucks for real long 2 up rides. i'll never be able to talk her into riding past 3 states
Congrats on the new limited, after riding a streetglide for three years my wife finally decided we didn't need the sport look any more so I traded for a limited also.
I was lucky enough to be able to keep my '05 Fatboy when I bought my limited last year. Told the wife that I had already promised the grandsons whichever one wasn't in prison when I had to quit riding was getting it.
Great choice on the bike. My wife does indeed sleep back there when we ride. Helmet to the back of the head kind of sucks but at least she will leave the radio alone when she is snorin.
One of the guys in our riding group traded his dyna on a limited recently. He got a package from the dealer that included the cams, DD exhaust, A/C, tune, install for the detachable tour pack, an extra cvo SG seat, and a short wind splitter windshield as well as the stocker. He rides it stripped down most of the time. It really looks great and he didn't pay that much more than MSRP. It was some crazy special!
