Default 4 point detachable mounting rack

Hi,

I have an 09 FLHTP and i am upgrading it to have the ultra features. So far i have the handlebar controls, factory stereo, rear floorboarss and a fair touring seat for now.

I have a bid on a king tour pack but need more info on the 4point detachable mounting hardware.

If i purchase a detachable 4 point mounting rack am i to understand the following correctly?

1. I can mount the backrest for the passanger or the rider
2. I can purchase diffrent mounting hardware such as the tour pack and have it detachable?

I am not sure what i need right now to add the tour pack, do i need the tour pack mounting rqck in addition to the detachable p4 point rack as well?

Ajy help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Scott

The 4 point hardware allows to you mount all of the detachable accessories (i.e. tour pak, passenger backrest, etc.) Rider backrest is a different animal and doesn't use the 4 point setup, it uses its own bracket attached under the seat on the fender. You need the 4 point hardware, the detachable tour pak rack and the tour pak.

Just remember that if you still have the Cop bags then you may have a problem with clearance with opening the bags with the TP on.

I had 2 point dock, never planned on needing a 4. Got a tour pak so switched to 4 point. They make a tour pak relocation kit, not sure, but may fix clearance issue with non-standard bags.

Hi,
Last year the EG 'Classic' wasn't offered in France and I didn't want the radio, so I bought the 'Standard' equipped with the 4 point docking hardware. In fact there already are 2 mounting points under the seat and the 4 point hardware is in fact a 6 point system: 2+2 on the first row and 2 in the rear.

Here is how I combine them:
- When I leave the 'Standard' seat I fit a sissy bar plus a separate rack, so all (8) mounting points are used.
- When I fit the King Tour Pak, I change my seat for one that normally comes with the 'Classic'. The 4 'rear' points are then used.

My wife feels the 'Standard' seat is too low and not very comfortable during long rides with the backrest that's mounted on my Tour Pak. You have to adapt the equipment to your morphology
