I have a 07 Road King with the 2-point mounting hardware for my detachable sissybar. My bike is in Cali (I am in UK) and I am thinking of having a Tour pak fitted for my ride back to Tampa in May.
I have found a tour pak but with no mountings, I have now found what looks like the mounting bracket but on closer inspection think I might need an additional bracket.
So my question is, those of you that have a quick detachable tour pak, does the mounting fit on the standard 2-point docking hardware or do i need additional hardware.
Sorry if above sounds confusing. This is difficult to explain I cannot do this myself due to the distances involved and timeframe when I go back to the USA
On the HD site it lists this bracket - 53276-04 , the plastic locking tabs are on the inside, whereas on my sissybar they are on the outside, so not thinking this is correct
The bracket P/N you have is correct for the 07. You also need the mounts that dawg listed. The tour pac sits on a completely different set of mounts than the passenger backrest does. You won't have to remove the passenger mounts, just add the tour pac mounts.
Not disagreeing with anything that has been said. Just explaining it a different way.
My 2006 FLHX has all four docking points. The front two were used for passenger backrest. The back two were used for luggage rack.
When I added the tour-pak mounted on the quick-detach bracket, the tour-pak uses only the back two docking points -- the ones previously used by the luggage rack. The front docking points (previously used by the passenger backrest/sissy bar) are not used by the tour-pak.
Sounds like the rearmost docking points are the two you need to add. As was said, no need to remove the docking points you currently have.
Ah makes more sense now, I was hoping the tour pac would use the same quick release hardware as my sissybar, guess HD thought, if you can afford a tour pak you can afford to buy an extra set of quick release mounts!
