Question 1990 to 2009 Fltcu to Roadglide fairing

Will a new Road Glide fairing fit on the older 1990's FLTCU with some modifications to the speedo/ tac box of the FLTCU? Does the fairing mount in the same place? Is the frame that much different? Anyone do this?

I have seen it done but it did take some mods.

Remember that the speedometer on the late model RG is electronic. The Speedometer on all Tour Glides are mechanical. They require a cable from the front wheel.

That is just one of the problems with the conversion.

Red face Speedo

I was planning on changing the speedo and tac with after market deals maybe a mini speedo that has all of the indicator lights (signal, oil pressure, neutral, high beam) built in like I have on my 91 softail. What I was asking if anyone knows if the 2009 type fairing would mount to the 1990 syle frame? I do believe the frame has changed, don't know how much and the fairing is defenitly different. Thanks.

My '98 Road Glide has a mech speedo.

BTW, you may get more info on the EVO section here.
