i think the best way is the way JCTURBO did his...do a search...
This also my concern, there is a scavenging effect that draws back threw the ex valves. and even if it is cleaned out pieces damaged may break off with time

its a metal matrix, so unless you cut it youll be there for years trying to get it all out. took me about a hour to cut/remove/weld it back

I am in the Pittsburgh area and am interested in having the CAT removed from my 2011 Street Glide - I have checked around a bit and have not yet found anyone that will remove the CAT - can anyone here help out?

a 1 inch x 16 inch paddle bit from the hardware store and drill it out. don't listen to people saying you can't get it all out, because you can. i've done this on many bikes. go slow when drilling and once threw start wallowing the bit around and the cat material will start busting up and then you can stop and dump it out , then continue drilling some more. hook up a shop vac on the header end of pipe so as you are not breathing any dust. take your time and you can get it very clean,

cutting it def. looks easier, and from the previous posts, the window works best as cutting in half shortens the pipe

I just don't have the welder to put the pipe back together...

Take it to a muffler shop.

Reversion is a very minor thing. Think about it this way...... your engine is a pump. The exhaust pulse is the volume of your cylinder doing a full stroke. The reversion pulse is the volume of the cylinder at TDC.

If you want to think about it as distance, it might be easier to visualize....... for every foot of exhaust gas going out the pipe, maybe 1/2 inch is drawn back in. These numbers are just for visualization, and are just rough, but you get the idea.

You are NOT going to suck something into the engine from the exhaust pipe.
