Default Time Between Oil Changes

I haven't put many miles on my bike yet but is there a rule of thumb to do an oil change no matter what mileage you put on the bike. Even if you haven't reached 5,000 miles or so. My oil has been in since july last year.....But only been rode around 2,000 miles.

Minimum of every 5,000 miles....but every 2,000 is a big waste if you run Synthetic.

if you were in a northern state and had to store it I would say in the fall just before you store it for the winter.

Syn oil=5,000 mile changes. Dino oil= 3,000 miles changes. If your bike is subject to condensation change it out. Time is a factor and you have almost a year on your oil. Change it.

Oil and filters are so cheap on these bikes, why push it? Look at your investment and then think if saving 20 or 30 bucks is worth it.

good call. I am going to change it. I don't have the tools yet so I will take it to a reliable mechanic.
