Hello from the Big apple,
quick question and if it was asked before I'm sorry
with the AntennaX shortys do you lose the weather band??
thanks in advance
Bushy
I wen't to west marine bought a amplified and mounted it in the ferring works great for everything cost about $16.00 see the back of my bike nice and clean and still works great.
Took off the long stock antenna....went to Discount Auto Parts....found a universal rubber antenna
that fits the existing threaded stud. The antenna is 14" and gets all the bands with no problems.
Not sure how signal would be......say out in the middle of no-where......but for most driving, have never
had a problem getting a station from somewhere.
I didn't lose anything when I cut down my stock antenna except reception. I don't pick up half the stations I used to but the WB still works fine. Glad I added XM.
I have a little 6" chrome antenna with flames on it. Looks awesome but doesnt work worth 2 cents
You should be able to stick your finger in the antenna connector and get some kind of signal there DI. Maybe you're just not making a connection somewhere.
