Well after two weeks of (not so) patiently waiting, I finally received the V&H HO ProPipe and PC-V in the mail from Fuel Moto.
Pipe only installed at this point, A/C is on backorder from Performance Machine for another week yet I'm told.
WOW nice sound!! Soooooo much better than the stock setup that sounds like a pair of XR 80's lol. Nice and deep tone, mellow at low throttle but really barks in the upper RPM, couldn't be happier.
HEAT though.. holy snappin arseholes... First call Monday is to add the heat shield to the Woods 555 cam order from Jamie and the gang lol.
Here's a couple pics, transformation is beginning....
Thanks.. Yes I'm hoping the heat comes down, could bake a potato if ya bungeed it to my calf lol. One pita is it sounds like I have a small exhaust leak but both headers are clean, no mess indicating exhaust s leaking from anywhere around the header/head insert..
A lot of the heat will be eliminated when the A/C, pipes, are replaced, and the bike is given a proper tune (eliminating the lean, stock A/F settings). I thought these videos illustrate the point.
Well I wnet back over the pipes from front to back, loosened off all the connections and re-torqued front jug first, then rear, then to header/megaphone connection. WAY quieter, to the point where I think anything I hear is in my head.. That and the heat is noticeably down, guessing the air leak caused a lean condition which = more heat.
Anyways man I LOVE the sound of this pipe, almost hate to install the new ARC Audio system I have coming because then I won't hear it hahaha.
Starting to come around on the 2-1 look too, always liked the sysmetrical view from behind on the 2-2...
