Default Looking for Ideas

I plan to do some light accessorizing over the winter on my '05 EG. My concept is to stay as reminiscent of "old school" style as is possible for an '05. I'll do the nostalgic bag guards and maybe Electra Glide fender emblems. The engine and covers don't have any chrome and I may not add much. The older style bikes just didn't have that much. I'm wondering if the members might have any other ideas to help achieve that look. Thanks -Jim

I'm kinda in the same boat as you with the Standard.
I like the "all business" look of the bike , and want to stay with a minimalist Black/Chrome look it already has.
Grab a copy of the latest Harley accesories catalog , and give your self only 15 minutes at a time to look/drool over it.
That catalog is the most complete way of seperating you from your money that has ever been published.
I've been doing "comfort" accesories slowly , one at a time , as I feel the need for goodies.
Windshield , fairing wings , fork baffle , and stuff for airflow.
I like the look of the chopped tour packs , and also the lower fairings (color matched) but they will wait for a more urgent need and my money situation.
Do what makes you happy , and you already have a great starting point for your masterpiece.

White Wall tires would be a great start. They give it an automatic "Old School" look.

i got the pm on that one too. "rubber fork boots" is the proper term. todays bikes have chrome covers on the upper part of the front forks to cover the hydrualic part. old bikes have a rubber boot, called a "scum boot." want a good description...take off the rear saddlebag on your bagger, and look at the rear shock. the rubber boot...thats what it looks like, wrapped around the top of the front fork. VERY old school. or take a look at a first generation sportster.
