Does anyone know if the dealer can tell if you have a PC111 on the bike? I can take it off just before getting it serviced but would the bikes computer make a record that it was there ? I was told by my HD dealer that a PC111 would void the warranty. Thanks - Tread
I'm not sure if the dealer even knows whether or not HD can void your warranty if you use PCIII. Since their is no permanent wire splicing and the original configuration can be put back, there should be no reason to void your warranty.
I found, in the past, that it's better to call HD in Milwaukee directly to find out. They are very nice people there.

No it cant tell bcause it hooks in line after the ecm, All a PCIII does is modifiy the stock signal sent by the ecm, so if you remove it there is no trace it was ever there.
the PCIII overrides the factory settings. It's adjunct to the settings. Removal before service won't give them any clue unless the bike runs really crappy.
Things to consider, modification to performance of engine and drive train. Your bike comes setup from the factory with pipes, injectors, plugs, etc. You choose to modify heads, rocker arms, pipes. these are not factory and have changed the performance from factory specs. Neither are all the items Harley accessories supported by Harley. Many cases not installed by an authorized HD dealer. Harley and/or Dealer files written findings and your warranty is not honored and is voided. You pay for repairs out of pocket.
It is exactly the same as with your cars and trucks that you have been driving. In Dealerships I have saved people and I have killed people concerning warranties and warranty problems.
