HELP! Red Security Indicator on solid no backlight - Update
My 05 Road King is running, but the red security indicator is on solid which tells me there is a problem.
When I try to get it into diagnostic mode odometer LCD does not illuminate.
Update:
Rode to work this morning, found I had no directionals, brake lights, speedometer, cruise control. I'll check fuses at lunch time.
I had a problem last winter where I had to jiggle ignition switch to get the engine to fire up. It's starts just fine now but there is nothing on the speedometer as far as backlight. Not sure if this is critical enough to cancel any long rides I had planned this weekend.
Thanks for any help or guidance

I'd have to say fuse. I also have an '05 RK where the same thing happened. The 12v switched source wire for the horn had rubbed through on the bracket and I didn't know until I went to use the horn; blew the fuse. All the same items you mentioned went dead. Repaired the wire, replaced the fuse and all was good to go.
Be sure to use at least a 12v test light to check the fuses. Don't go by a visual inspection.
I rode through about 200 miles of extreme driving rain and thunderstorms about 3 weeks ago. Everything got soaked. I visually inspected the fuses. I thought you could see where the fuses would have melted through if they were bad. Corrosion likely I guess. Think I will stop and get some replacements on the way home.
On my '01 RK, I removed the ignition console from the tank once last year. After I put it back on I had similar problems. My blinkers didn't work, the horn didn't work, and the speedometer didn't work. It turns out that the ignition switch wire housing under the console was loose. I took it off, cleaned it up, put it back on and everything worked fine. Hopefully it is this simple for you.

Seems the most obvious to check first seeing it has a history..

Funny though, my problem is the exact opposite of what was going on last winter. Yeah the switch has certainly been a problem, but it would not start the engine, now the engine runs fine but nothing else does. I'm going to replace all the fuses with clean ones since they are so cheap tonight. If that don't fix it I'll have to remove the console and see what's up. Was avoiding changing the switch as it's over 100 bucks for a new one and needs to be re-keyed. Yeah I am a cheap bastard all right.
