Default Dunlop 407F cupping?

I have a new 09 take off wheel with a 407 F front tire. I had another 09 take off on my bike that cupped. I replaced the tire with a Dunlop American Elite. Looking at the tread pattern on the elite & new 408f it seems to me I could reverse the 407f tire. As anyone tried this? Did it prevent the cupping?

over inflate the 407 by about 4-5 lbs and it won't cup.

It will also affect your ride and handling, lengthen your braking distances and screw with poor weather traction...but yeah - it wont cup.

Alternatively, you could see if your dealer will replace it. There was a known issue with the 407F

If the tire is withing spec you should be able to complain about noise and vibration and the dealer will replace it under warranty.

Dunlop should be ashamed for putting out this 407 and 408 crap tires.

I talked to the dealer. You need a vin # to be able to process a claim. I bought both wheels on eBay. Bought a elite for the wheel on my bike. I was wanting to save $150 by using the 407f. Probably not worth the risk.

American elite is the way to go. Trash those 407s. They suck!

The revised tires have been great. I'm on my second set now; they wear really well and handle well. They sure screwed the pooch with the original front tire design but now that its fixed there is no issue

This applies to tires on the Original Motorcycle Owner, with in the warranty period, on the motorcycle (VIN Required), with specific tread depth, and once per Motorcycle.

Tread requirements:
5/32 = new 100% Credit
3/32 - 5/32 = 100% Credit
1/32 - 2/32 = 50% Credit
Less than 1/32= No Credit.

If you buy a Dunlop 407F, you will not be able to have it replaced under the Harley Warranty.
