Default Installed Supertrapp SE Slip Ons on 2011 Road King

Got around to putting on Supertrapp SE slip ons today.......

2011 Road King Stock header with Cat

Pipes came off easy and went on pretty easy. One of the pipes has a very small ding in side but since I was turning the Supertrapp emblem to the inside I decided no big deal

End Caps are Screamin Eagle Black engraved....like the look

Impressions...I like them! Even with the cat they have a nice lower bass rumble at idle compared to stock.....at cruising speed they are mellow, almost same as stock.....if you crack the throttle they have a nice bark.....not obnoxious

Have sound I was looking for. Deeper but only a little if anything louder......still have a decel pop and gurgle that I've had since day one.....not bad but a little louder now

Next up is probably a Big Sucker and either the Stage 1 D/L or a Super Tuner

Now just step up the cam a little bit and you will have some good sounding pipes.

Looks good- bet it sounds nice and you feel good about it too.

The Ness BS is a quick and easy install ( you don't remove the intake brace like on the S/E) the version with the chrome backing plate looks good with those heads and makes for easy wipe down on wash day. I paid $115 shipped on ebay from easternpc.

Tuning- I used XIEDS- $125 shipped.

So 2 things you can do on a budget which make a difference. You'll get another few HP and a slightly deeper sound

Mike

I've had the SuperTrapp slip-on's for about 2 years now on an 09 RK and I'm very happy. Got them as part of Fuel Moto's Power Package. Easy to service and modify with replaceable end-caps. SuperTrapp used to be the Harley's SE pipe until they went with a more restrictive/EPA-compliant supplier/pipe. Great quality, no chrome issues, etc.

Yep. I want that, too. Deeper and slightly louder.

The decel pop is a sign of a slightly lean condition, which may be cured when you add fuel management to the mix. I'm surprised that you're not following Ronp42's lead and trying the NightRider XiED Kit. The HD D/L doesn't do anything for the closed loop and that's where most of our cruising occurs.

I'm doing the same thing for air kit and fuel management, but prolly with Fuel Moto's Jackpot's.
