Quick Release Brackets Won't Release

As you press the release latch on the rear attachment points, check to make sure that the cam bar that locks the upright into place is actually disengaging. I had this problem when I was installing mine the first time. Once I recognized the problem, it was an easy fix.

Pull up. Press inward on the spring loaded latches thus creating an opening, rotate the assembly (latch) up, & then lift up on the backrest pulling up towards the front of the bike. Check for tightness on the side plate assembly & you may have to push the side plates in or out to release tension. If you can see that the side-plates are snug inward or outward, you can add or subtract washers to adjust so it rotates more freely on the assembly making it easier to install & uninstall. Hope this helps.

I had this problem when I first installed my mounts, I loosened them with the braket mounted then tightened it back up and that fix the problem. I don't think you should need any kind of lubrication. At least I don't for my TP.

First you push in on the spring loaded latch then rotate the latches while pushing in on them & then rotate the backrest/tourpack toward the handlebars. It will then rotate on the front quick detach posts.

This is not a hard thing to accomplish. Locate the little cam lock button on the bottom of both latches. Put your thumbs on the buttons and push the buttons up. Put your index finger on the front of the latches. Push the buttons up with your thumbs and pull back with your index fingers at the same time. The cam will rotate back toward you and the back of the backrest bracket will raise up. Now, tilt your back rest forward away from you and pull it from the front mount.
