Default What a Surprise!!!!!

After riding my 05 Ultra for 4 years, I got up Tues. morning to go to go for job related tests. Got on Ole Whitey and hit the button to be greeted by absolutely nothing but a click...We spent the weekend in Arkansas and it never refused to start, did kinda drag a little. So, took the seat off and checked all the connections, everything was fine. Pulled the battery(marked on top 03-24-05)over to my indy shop and had it tested, it tested bad. Bought a new Interstate Battery for 99.00. Put it on the trickle charger for a couple of hrs and all is well. Ole Whitey fires right up and seems to be running better, of course that is most likely, my imagination...LOL...I just don't understand why HD can't make a battery that last longer that 4 years, tensioners that last longer that 76,000 miles, LOL. I must have a blessed bike to get that much wear and life out of it. I don't abuse my bike, but I do ride it all the time.

I got 6 years out of my original HD battery in my 02 RKC. I use a battery tender, so maybe that helped.

anything over 4 years on any battery is a gift from God, car or motorcycle. yes some last longer, but unless you want to gamble on getting stranded, as a professional tech, recommend a new battery every 4 yerars

I can remember being happy if I got 2 seasons out of a battery.

Replaced battery in my 07 Ultra at 4 years.
Battery in my 01 F150 lasted 10 years. Go figure.

The original battery on my '02 lasted 7 years, and probably would have lasted longer if I'd had been more diligent about trickle charging.

You got better then 6 years out of that puppy, not to shabby in my book. Glad it was an easy fix!

HUH?

What year are you living in?

This is 2011. Your battery is a '05. That would make it a 6 year old battery and not a 4 year old.
