If it was me, I wouldn't run it again until it's checked out by a good mechanic. Since the light and gauge seem to agree, I wouldn't think it's as simple as one or the other of them being bad.

How many miles on the bike?
First thing to check are the cam chain tensioners. These will wear and break which lead to oil pump failure.

If the lifters haven't collapsed, ( clacking,) you've probably got a sending unit problem which effects both the guage and the light.

I had a couple lifters go bad on my '06 TC.
There was a bad rattle sound on acceleration and decel.

With 32K on the motor I would suggest checking the tensioners if you have not done so.
If the tensioners are shot then the pump could be scored.
You would need a new pump, tensioners and might as well replace the cam bearings. There is also a replacement hyd. tensioner kit that replaces the stock type tensioners.

Same thing happened to me last fall on my '05 when it had just over 50,000 km (30,000 miles) on it. Dealer replaced the oil pump as well as the cams and bearings that got screwed because of the oil pressure loss.

No warning before it started doing it other than the pressure seemed a bit low on the guage at idle.

I would get it checked for a bad oil pump.

BTW, cost to me for the repair was ---- $50.00. The ESP paid off.

jumpimg up and down makes me think u got pieces off cam chain tentioner trying to move through the oil system, or a bad sending unit.
