Default abs warning

i'm not here to bash hd even though i'm not real happy with them right now but instead to warn anyone that has abs. My front right wheel bearing quit on me today at 12473 miles. i removed my front wheel and the bearing just fell to pieces. i have changed bad bearings on vehicles several times and there is always some amounts of grease or burned grease in or outside of the bad bearing. This bearing had no signs of grease at all. I dont know if grease was not put in the bearing when manufactured or it was a bad batch or the wrong grease and it broke down. Still should have been some amount of grease present when removed. I have been told I should have checked it at my 10,000 service and i did just like the service manual says to check it but its sealed, if theres no play u think its all good. I was surprised at the number of posts about the wheel bearings on abs harleys going bad, especially the front right bearing. If u feel a "clunk" up front stop and check it out dont just assume u hit a bump in the road. I just hope nobody gets hurt from this, its not like its a bad batch of gauges or radios. Wheel bearings are pretty important.

Front right bearing doesn't have anything to do with ABS. It is a 9276 bearing like the non ABS. But I agree, there has been several bearing problems. They are now a 9276A, but I'm not sure if it was a supplier change or something else.

Definitely seen enough info that a lot of these are bad .. Lucky I guess here, 40K on my 09 with no problems .. Although watching them very closely .. Next tire replacement will replace the wheel bearings regardless ..

Unfortunately bearings are a hot topic across the range. My Buell needed new bearings when I replaced the original tyres, after just 6k miles. We all need to be alert!

From what I've been reading and talking to people it seems to be the front right that's giving the problems. I installed my new ones today both right and left. I did notice there is an A at the end of the part number for the new right side bearing. Don't know if they redesigned the bearing or what but it looked the same as the old one.

Does anyone know how long ago the "A" bearing superseded the older one? Might the 11's have the new bearings in them?
