I was thinking about doing that on my 05 EG. It has 257 cams and needs some more low end grunt

It will add the low end grunt you are looking for. IMHO it will be the best mod for the price to increase your low end. It will make your cruising rpm's alittle higher, but it will not hurt anything at all.

I need to do it. I find myself running 55-60 in 4th gear!

That's actually a testament to the quality manufacturing of tires these days. If it were 20 years ago, that tire would've totally shredded and come off the wheel.

Trust me when that piece came off I thought thats what was happening!
