I tried the HD center stand but too it back. It was easy to install and I could lift the bike up with the rear wheel still touching the ground but I bought mine to clean the rear wheel. When I adjusted it up so the rear wheel would clear, I couldn't lift the bike. I have an "11 Limited and I find it just too heavy to lift. I have had several Goldwings and used the center stand all the time. No problem. I believe it all has to do with the arm coming out you stand on to lift is too short, no leverage.
