Just picked up my 2012 road glide I love this bike had a 07 street glide. What exhaust should I put on this one. Looking for sound and performance I had d&d on the street glide it was great but any other options out there?
If you are looking to keep the existing head-pipes, my suggestion would be the Screamin' Eagle slip-ons (made by SuperTrapp).
Go to the SuperTrapp web site and check it out.
I have the Nightstick set-up on my 2010 RG - use the open end cap & 5 plates when I am riding solo (more sound) and replace it with the closed end-cap, with all of the plates, when riding 2-up.
Not quite as much sound (but still good) and no apprecable drop in HP or torque.
call and talk to Jamie at Fuel Moto the sponsor to this section of the forums. His X pipe to replace your head pipe and some jackpot mufflers along with a power commander will wake up your ride and give you great sound and power
Congratulations on your purchase. I have the stock head pipe with the screaming eagle (super trapp) night stick, which is nice, but I'm looking to upgrade to another 2-1 with no CAT and good performance, I've been looking at D&D, V&H, RUSH, to name a few. Just have to search the threads and read the results and comments, good luck.
There are a couple routes you can go. If you are looking primarily for sound you can add a set of slip on mufflers and you will also see a slight performance increase and in many cases you can get by without retuning if you leave the stock air cleaner in place. If you are looking for better performance and signifigantly cooler running I would recommend replacing the factory head pipe as well or going with a 2/1 system. A good set of slip on mufflers combined with a correctly designed head pipe will provide similar performance to a quality 2/1 system with most combinations. With a complete system you will see best gains with a stage 1 air cleaner and EFI tuning which is the key ingredient to optimizing the combination you choose.

IMO , the best performance that you can do for the $, for both you and your bike is call Jamie at Fuel Moto and discuss options with him. Tell him what your budget is and he will get you set up.
This is my 3 HD and 3rd time doing stage 1 all 3 times I used Fuel Moto and got good results with great customer service. Im using a Power Vision this time on my bike and its by far the best and easiest EFI tuner Ive used (have had SERT,uel pak and PC lll in the past)
On my FLTRX Im running V & H Power Duals and 4" Black Outs, SE A/C and Power Vision. If Fuel Moto had mufflers in black I would have gone with their cermic headpipe and jackpot mufflers, but I was told they were not in stock at the time and I wanted a black exhaust.
I installed the Fullsac X-pipe and put Fullsac 2" baffles in CVO 4" mufflers.... also used TTS mastertune with the map that Fullsac created for this setup... I'm extremely happy with the exhaust!
Congratulations on your purchase.
