Default antenna options

Will be adding a detachable tour pak to my flhx. Would like to just have a short antenna that would allow the tour pak to go on without being in the way. Any suggestions?

I just popped off the ball at the end of my OEM and then cut it to length. Had to file down the diameter so the ball would fit back on but it worked. Not the greatest reception but it works. I may end up buying a 10" antenna of ebay or auto parts store eventually. Bryan

Just get one of these. Not in the way, and it's rubber..... really hard to break. And cheap.

I installed an internal antenna inside the fairing...works great and provides a nice clean look

I put both AM/FM Radio and CB Antenna in the Fairing.
And made removal of the Tour Pak so easy.

No need to cut the ball end - other end detaches at the flex and can be cut there to
shorten it. I cut mine to 14 inches long, 16" including the flex mount base, and it bends
under my detachable tour pak when it's on. Compared it to a shorter rubber one and it
gets better reception too. IMHO.

Antenna in the fairing. $50 for the antenna + labor (unless you can do it yourself). Very good reception. On my Electra Glide Classic they removed the antenna and capped the opening on the tour-pak
