Replaced my battery with a Continental battery the HD battery lasted less than three years, I went with Continental because I was on the road and the nearest Harley dealer was 75 miles away, but for less than 100 dollars if the battery last 2-3 years I'll be happy.

Your 09 battery should still be fine.. I would think..
Mine is still good, but then again I keep mine on a tender whenever it is home, year round 24/7.

09 Road King here. As of lately the bikes' battery didn't seem like it was when the bike was newer. You know - lights not as bright - headlight dimming excessively when starting up - not turning over as fast as it used to. I had the battery back on the tender as of 2 weeks ago and while it seemed to help some it still just didn't "feel" quite rite! Yesterday I pulled the bike apart to pigtail a Gerbings heater plug and while it was apart I replaced the battery.

WOW - WHAT A DIFFERENCE! I'm absolutely sure that it was time to replace the battery. The bikes' starter sounds like it's on steroids now. No dimming AT ALL of the headlight when starting.

The moral of the story - TRUST YOURSELF! If something doesn't seem quite right, it probably isn't. I probably saved myself from having to be towed back in from bumf*** nowhere.

Well, what kind of a battery did you put in? You didn't say?
That could make a difference too....
