Default Helmet Headset

I have the HD headsets and they are great for the CB, Intercom and talk radio. But music is not worth listening to. There is no low frequency response and it just sounds tinny. Any thoughts on ways to improve the sound? They are mounted in the 3/4 Harley Quest helmets. Any experience with the J&M or other headsets?

Thanks in advance for your help!!

I have not ever had a chance to listen to any other head set other than the one that came with the Ultra.
J and M make a good head set and also heard that the J and Ms are not as good as the Harley, so go figure

Here's what worked for us: Turn the bass up way up and the treble way down.

I had the J&M mounted in my current helmet but when I sold the 96 and bought the 05 the 5 pin system no longer worked. I can say for me the J&M blew the factory stuff away. I have to turn my freebie's up all the way to hear most normal conversation. That same volume with the J&M would cause hearing damage. They are expensive but worth every penny in my opinion.

Maybe I should consider the J and Ms then.

Well I tried a suggested easy fix of putting a spacer behind the speaker to help the response. By putting a 1/4" double sided foam spacer and placing them on top of the fabric instead of in the pocket, there was a world of difference. Not quite high fidelity, but much better.
