It says on the tag inside the helmet. It's different companies, on different helmets.
I went to the Harley dealer found a helmet I liked, then bought a helmet made just buy the manufacturer without the Harley stickers.
To be quite honest the Harley helmet was a little more comfy. Like they had to use better materials.
I'm not sure it was a $100 more comfy though. lol

I have three 1/2 helmet's. two is made by KBC and the older one is by HBC. All are made in China. I just installed a new set of American Elite tires. While I had the tire's off the rims I noticed the Chrome smooth profile rims are made in Japan. I guess a lot of the Harley bike part's come from oversea's.

Yep, I think that pretty much sums it up. If you go look at one of the manufacturer's helmets, say HJC, you will see that they are not at all one of the top tier helmets, at least in the price category. They fall way behind a Shoei or an Arai in apparent quality (if you base quality on price). Seems like the racers and track guys gravitate to the higher-end helmets like Shoei or Arai. That should probably say something to the rest of us. It would also appear that HD doubles the price when they put their logo on it, even though it's still a lower quality helmet. But what's new?
