Depends on the style. There is a little tag inside the helmet along with the usual info./notices that has the "maker" documented. Sometimes it is documented in the HD catalog.
For example the link below shows that the helmet is an HJC..Meets DOT requirements. HJC, 3 lbs. 6 oz.

Whoever it is they make them CHEAP!!!!! I spent the $$$ on one of those Hybrid Helmets it is nice and light and comfortable but it has a bunch of chips in it after 3 months. Looks like everytime a rock or something flies up it takes out another chip...
