Who do ya hafta know to get the oil check dip stick out. Especially when the engine is warm or hot. Is there a "special tool" for this? I know there is a tool for the oil filter. Only way I've been able to get it off is to take a thick towel, wrap it around the cap, and then gently use channel locks.
That doesn't work very well when out on the road. I'd rather not carry all that stuff just to check the oil.
Mine is threaded. And I didn't put it back on with channel locks. Just hand tighten. But, there is NO way I can get my hand around the cap when the bike is warm or hot.
The newer digital dipsticks work pretty well. They give you oil temp. & level at the touch of a button. OTOH, if you're on the road, don't have oil all over the bike & it's been runnin' good you probably don't have an oil problem............

...first off...why are you checking it when it's so hot?...just check it when it's cold before you take off on a run...if it's in the middle of the safe-range on the stick when it's cold, then it's fine.
