I need some recommendations for bars. Makes and models.
Here's the scoop - on my '09 UC EG I had the dealer put on the HD Touring Bars back in '10 - which gives about 2" of more pull back than standard OE... well it just aint enough. I could use about another 1.5"-2" more. I do NOT want Ape Hangers - no interest - don't like the looks, and tried them, don't like having my arms in the air. ;-)
I have short arms. Hell I am just short period.
So I am after those who very knowledgeable and have done the same thing, or helped someone, or you just know yer stuff, heck you may even be a manufacturer.
Okay; that's what I have too and they've worked great for me. Have you tried having your seat modified to move you closer to the bars? You can send it to Mean City Cycles and they can make that adjustment. HD also makes the Reach Seat and Super Reduced Reach Seat that will bring the controls closer. How are you on the reach to the ground?

Yes sir - have tried seat mods - what I have now is perfect for my tootsie's touching earth, and keeping my bum all comfy. So it is a bars thing.
Hated the low reach - great for town driving (I still have it) but long distance my butt hated it. I found the low pan OE seat that HD came out with after my '09, totally digging it. And I have my original seat that I had MC modify.

Okay; well sorry I can not be of more help. I put the new "low" 2010 seat on mine as well and had Mean City Cycles upgrade the foam. Totally comfortable now. Unfortunately I don't have another bar suggestion for you. A lot of the guys like the Wild Ones; perhaps give them a call and see what they have that may be a better fit for you.
One last thought: You can rotate them a small amount; have you tried that?
You might want to check out Helibars Horizon ES from Heli Modified (www.helibars.com). I had these installed at Laconia last year and am absolutely thrilled with them. The beauty of the bars is that they are infinitely adjustable. If you don't like your hand position just turn a bolt or 2 and move your grips in any direction.
Prior to going over to Laconia I had been at Americade and bought a new Mustang touring seat. The seat was great, but I found on my way to Laconia from Lake George that the new seat changed my riding position in relation to the bars, and by the time I got to Laconia my back and shoulders were killing me. I had Laconia HD look at my stock bars to see if they could at least rotate them a bit for me and they said no go, they were already rotated as far forward as they would go. They quoted me on some reach bars, but it was just about the same price as the Helibars when I added everthing up. Helibars was set up as a vendor at Laconia and was including the installation in the purchase price, so I went for it. Best comfort move I could have made.
Just for the record I am not affiliated with Heli Modified in any way, I just love their bars!

$750 for a set of bars!?! Ouch! They better be fully adjustable. I'm just sayin' ........
