Are you using the black Duestch connector under the seat. If so you can just buy the male plug for Harley.

I used the 91843-97 which is called a power port and has a cigarette socket meant to be mounted on the side cover. I cut that off and soldered on a two pin flat connector. The Duestsch plugs right into the black deutsch under the seat and is controlled by both the ignition and switch on the Nacelle. They run between $ 15.00 and $ 19.00 depending on where you buy it.

It shuts off using the switch on the nacelle cover and with the ignition. It seems the easiest way for me rather than building a wire harness around the duetsch parts.

Yes, I am using the connector under the seat. This switch on the necelle only function when the ignition is on. I want to control LED lights with the ignition off.

You have to change one of the pins on the Duetsch plug. The o/r is ignition. You need to change it to power all the time color. The ground remains the same. I have the color codes at home but I think red it the hot lead from the battery.

There are three wires. Ground, power, power through ignition. The accessory plug in kit usually comes pre-set up for ignition control as most handlebar accessories are turned off when stopped.

If you are adding leds, just wire them to the battery, with a fuse.

if there is no controller, then add a switch.

that leaves the acc free for future needs

Exactly what did Harley intend for this switch? The owners manual states it is for dealer added accessories under the seat. I have ABS so there is no room under the right side cover. It does not look like anything will fit under the seat. So what did the factory have in mind?

The Deutch accessory plug under the seat has 4 leads. Black which is a ground. The Red/Yellow is switch through the brake relay and I believe is usually used to control tour pak lighting. The Orange is the one controled by the nacelle switch but the ignition must be on for it to go hot. The last the Orange/Red is hot when ever the ignition is on.
There is NO power to this plug with the ignition OFF. Sorry.
Fortunately right next to that plug is a grey connector listed as the B+ connector. That is I believe hot always but NO ground at this connector.

harley sells the 91843-97 Power Port kit, a cigaette socket that is desihned to plug into the duetsch and the socket to be mounted on the side cover. Then it could be used for a 12 volt air pump, heated gear, lighting cigarettes, whatever.

I cut the cigarette socket off and used it to connect to my GPS and removeable fairing/radio leads.

I added LED lights to my RK and wired everything to the battery. The kit came with a remote and an in-line fuse - just stick and go! The problem I had was after the original batteries for the remote died. I went to Radio Shack and replaced the button batteries. After 3 weeks, the new batteries died, I tried again - same thing! I finally did as stated above... I bought the Y connector for the aux plug under my seat. I cut out the remote and wired the in-line fuse'd wire to the ignition-controlled line. It is true, no LED light unless you put your ignition switch in AUX and your auxilary switch is on... no biggie, though. I want people to see me when riding and these things really help! Good luck!

One of the lines in that plug is switched throught the Brake relay. I believe some of the tour paks with brake lights in them are plugged into that plug with a harness that is routed under the seat. One possible dealer added accessory.
