I agree with jrp on the single hose pumps. My biggest problem is when I'm traveling and the bike can only go so far on a tank. You have to except the pump your at cuase there are no choices. I hate that!!!

If your already buying Premium gas make sure that the station's pumps do not use only one hose to pump out all three grades of gas. If you get gas form a one hose pump that just pumped regular gas the first 1/2 gallon of gas you buy will be the left over regular grade left in the hose, nozzel and pump. If you gas up with say three gallons there will be a considerable dilution of the octane. Either find stations with three hoses or make sure that the last grade pumped thru the hose was 93 octane.
Problem solved, the original dealer had installed a curve for the 103 street legal, I needed a 103 SE HO curve and wallah no more pinging in fact it broke loose in second gear under hard accelleration today, I almost weeped it made me so happy ha ha ha. I was able to get the original dealer to pay the other dealer as well so other than a 2500 mile oil change and the saddle bag latches being adjusted oh and the oil leak was from the primary they put a new gasket and no more leak. I will be riding to work tomorrow and am very happy for it!
Bobby,
It is good to here a tale that actually has a defined conclusion. it seems all my little problems, like valve clatter, never have a definitive answer. But maybe the fun is chasing them down????
