Default Check Engine light

2012 electra glide classic,,,check engine light and low battery light come on and voltage drops to 12 volts,,,when the lights go out the volt meter shoots up to 14 and the lights go off. The volt meter slowly drops again to 12 and the lights come back on again,,this is all happens while the bike is moving. Any help would be appreciated.

Check the battery connections. Had that happen on my 2010 once. But it might be a bad battery.

By brothers bike had the same exact problem. After we checked all the connections and replaced the battery, we still had the same problem. Turned out to be the voltage regulator. His bike is an 06 FLHTC.

I had the exact same thing happen to me, and when they check it first they replaced th regulator, 2 days later it did it again, ended up changing the stator.
