Faith In My Brother Riders??
So today my girlfriend goes on a ride with 3 of her friends. The other 3 women are motorcycle police officers from various local agencies, so their riding skills and knowledge of the road are the best out there in my opinion. So I rest easy knowing that she's in good hands with the other rider's she's with. She's with expert riders and on a Harley, so she's covered all around, right? Hmmmm......did I mention that they are ALL absolute KNOCK OUTS?!?!
I'm just getting out of the shower and I hear the phone ringing. I answer it. Its my girlfriend and she says one of the womens Road Kings has had issues and they're all stranded coming out of Live Oak Canyon into Robinson Ranch. She describes what she thinks it is. I interpret shift lever or linkage issues, so I grab my extra lever (I removed my heel shifter as soon as I got the bike), extra linkage, some extra nuts and such, and hop into the truck with my tool box to go help them out.
They were stranded there for about an hour as the sun was going down and I arrive with tools and a smile (cape flapping in the wind too!!). I figure out the problem and have it fixed within 10 minutes. As they're praising my mechanical skills and thanking me for helping out, they also said that lots of motorcycles had passed them, about 35 harleys and 10 "crotch rockets", and ZERO harleys stopped or motioned if they needed help, or anything. All the women said the harley riders didn't even acknowledge them. They didn't turn their heads towards them or anything!! 4 different crotch rocket riders stopped and 2 others motioned whether they needed help or not. They were waived on because the women knew I was on my way. So 6 of 10 import riders offered assistant or attention in some way shape or form and NO harley riders within that hour even acknowledged these women.....and the harley riders FAR outnumbered the import riders. Now this is a highly traveled road for local motorcyclists due to its windy canyon road and oak tree tunnels.
I've got to tell you......I'm quite disappointed in the local harley 'brotherhood' around here as of today. I KNOW that its not like that everywhere (at least I hope), but here in south Orange County, it appears that the percentage of other riders willing to stop and help is quite low.
I'm sorry about the rant, but I'm just venting here. A basic set of allen wrenches and a tad bit of knowledge about a bike could have got these women on the road again quickly. For nobody to even look their way, much less, stop is a tad frustrating and a little insulting. Kudos to the import guys that at least stopped and paid attention to them. You have my utmost respect.

Wow, that's shameful. At least they had you to save the day. I had three people stop in cars the day my aftemarket tourpak rack broke. And I am a big burly ****. I can't imagine all these guys riding passed these ladies. Wow.
Playing devils advocate, perhaps the bikes going by assumed because there were four bikes that they were stopped taking a break rather than broken down. I may be less apt to pay attention to a large group that is stopped assuming that's the case.....
However, if they're all hot I may turn around and come back ha ha!!!! 3 hot females cops....why can't they work at my dept

Sorry man but after last year, I pulled over because I saw a few soft tails & dyna's pulled over & in my tour pak I have my usual tool set & stuff.
I could see of the 3 (females) riders of the 5 bikes as I rolled up, getting off my bike I make my way over asking nicely if there is anything I can do to help. Next thing I know the 2(females) riders I didn't see are waving a damn gun around talking about I better leave. So i did, sorry man but this day & age as bad as it sounds I'm just not going to stop anymore.
