I'm not surprised, but I don't think the Harley riders were trying to be rude as much as they wouldn't have had a clue what to do, or a tool with them if they did.
My personal experience between the sport bike world and the Harley world is that sport bikes guys work on their bikes a hell of a lot more than Harley guys, period. That may not have been the case years back, but it is now.
THIS BOARD BEING THE EXCEPTION SO NO ONE GETS OFFENDED ... but I swear I've lost count of how many new Harley riders I've met who don't know the basic specs - never mind mechanics - of their own bikes. And don't get me going on their lack of riding skills and refusal to practice before they hurt themselves or others.
Lord knows I'm a hack mechanic at best, but it doesn't surprise me that at least new Harley riders don't stop to help.
This take gets my vote. So many posers and profilers running around no surprise to me this went down. Counter point......were they waving for help and getting passed up or just standing around looking hot?

I'm sorry about the rant, but I'm just venting here. A basic set of allen wrenches and a tad bit of knowledge about a bike could have got these women on the road again quickly.
i always stop to see if assistance is needed. more often than not, the person is just taking a break. but, this last sentence you posted could have applied to them as well....
Unless they were actively trying to signal for help or in obvious distress, I'm not stopping either. 4 capable women with cell phones located in a populated area aren't exactly helpless. They had plenty of options.
I've seen this happen at a rally one year. I was heading to the rally from my campsite on a a major highway and on the side of the road this guy was laying on the ground clearing working on his bike. I turned around to see if he needed help. He had a rag or something caught between his chain and sprocket. He was cutting it away with a pocket knife. i stayed with him untill he got it free. I was suprised that of the hundreds of bikes going by in both directions, nobody stopped!
I always try to show the thumbs up/down to see if there is any issues. Most of the time they are on the cell phone and return a thumbs up.
Yeah, that is what I do. Sometimes the people smile, but frequently they look annoyed that I asked, so I could see why people stop asking in this cell phone world.
W/today's technology & seeing nothing indicating they were stranded...I'd assume all is well. Were they flagging anyone??? They already called their "white knight" and knew you were enroute so don't understand the rant...??
I was riding through Kentucky @80mph with my bud... I saw a guy pushing a sporty getting ready to hit the off ramp, so I moved over and stopped to help him. He was very appreciative and thanked me profusely because he had been pushing for 2 miles and was tired. He was out of gas, I asked if he had cash to get some, and was told yes... I went down to my bike... and my partner had left... Long story short, we don't ride together and don't talk to each other anymore.
So yes, I would have stopped, or at least slowed with a thumbs up/down... And I could have fixed them as I have the tools and linkage in my tourpak.
