Would it be wrong?
Buy the backrest as a gift to your "bike" that she will get to enjoy.....the bike won't get offended, it just wants to be out riding and getting attention.
Get her some cute (slutty) HD clothes, I think/hope she might prefer that
Harleys and Halloween are the only time it ok for a woman to dress a little out of charactor

I spent almost $800.00 in bike parts for my wife for Christmas and these will all go on HER bike. I know she will be thrilled but I think unless your GF has asked you to get her a backrest I would not include it with her other gifts. Just show her after she opens the others & she will love it.

I don't think it's a bad idea at all. A couple of years ago my wife fussed about how uncomfortable the stock seat was on my Suzuki Volusia. She tried out a Mustang seat on my buddy's bike and liked it so I bought her onefor Christmas and she loved it.
I wouldn't recomend it. I just spend $4k on new stainless steel kitchen appliances and joked to my wife that it was her christmas presents. She quickly said no it wasn't.
According to my wife, she just read this thread, she says that is a great idea! She says that you are including her in your bike which always means future rides. It is sort of a comittment. She says go for it!

go for it. my wife loves it when I buy stuff for her for me. or at least it seems that way. every piece of jewelry (or anything else for that matter) I ever got her she took back. the only items she never took back was that Sears band saw I bought for her 21 years ago, the Rossi 38 spl 19 years ago, and theRuger 357 18 years ago. She (I) still has all of these gracious gifts, and I get to use them anytime I like.Although I think she was just trying to make a point when she cut a frozen roast on that brand new band saw.
