Default Hard Bag latch adjustment

Is there a way to adjust the tension on the hard bag latch? One of mine keeps popping open.

Not when I lock it. There are times when I don't want to keep it locked. I'm hoping Santa brings me a service manual. Maybe there's something in there.

Seems I just read in my 06' Street Glide owners manual that explained how to adjust them.

Just looked it up, it's on pg 81 of the 06' Touring owners manual.

Hope this helps, and Merry Christmas!!!

Mine did the same thing BUT. The tech. came out and showed me the problem. The fabric that holds the lid on closes in the lid and it pops open going down the road. DUH !! It worked , try that.

I had one thatpopped open continually several years ago as you describe. found the bolts loose on the outsidelatch/hinged mechanism. Have since used lock tight on all the boltson bothsides and not had a problem since.IF your latch seems to move up and down in the open position, give it a try. Hope that helps, chuckw.

Mine does the same on 1 side. Also, the pin that runs through the hinge on that side tends to slide out; almost lost it on a ride and have to check it frequently. I'll have to address it tomorrow. Thanks v2in.

The fabric is folded in on the lid when you close it. Take both hands and move the fabric inward as you close the lid.

And yes there is a small catch on the latch you can bend to help keep the lig closed.
