Had the same thing happen last year on my 05 RK. Happpened right before my 1k service, so dealer fixed it under warranty, but I think there is a section in the owner's manual about adjusting the saddlebag hinges.

I find that I haven't gotten the saddle bag lids on correctly that causes the latch to pop up on my '03 Ultra Classic bags.

The latch side of the lid must be raised as high as possible in order to allow the opposite side to hook correctly.

Definately an adjustment issue. I had my bags apart for painting and had the same problem whne I got it back together. Take the bag off, remove the cloth internal hinge support and loosen the torx screws and retighten. I am sure there is a "owners manual" version of how to adjust, but try that first.

Same thing happened on my 04RK. If the same latch on the later model is the same; open your latch and you'll find two curved looking flat retaining like springs. CAREFULLY bend these in the direction you need to go; giving a better resistence to the latch mechanicism. Use a little rag around the device you use for bending, so not to damage your bag. Hope this may help you some.
