The download they install is basically a software "patch" that ensures the bike maintains EPA compliance. It isn't some magical "performance enhancer".

So, since your bike is still considered stock (SE exhaust doesn't change the AFR) you are running at 14.6-7 AFR which is the primary reason for the popping on decel. I can recommend an aftermarket fuel management devise which will eliminate that, plus wake up your bike.

Please do some research on this forum and also look up our sponsor, Fuel Moto, who is by far the best sourse for fuel management devices and superior customer service.

Cheers....

What ever you do not purchase a Vance & Hines Fuel Pack. Mine decel pops all the time. Now I have to save another $300 to get a Fuel Moto. DAM YOU VANCE & HINES.

Don't know. I'll tell you a little more in about a week. I do know that the guys at vance and hines said if there were any problems to call and they would be more than happy to help out. The person I am installing it for is only looking for stage 1 improvements on a budget. Nothing more, nothing less. I would say for a custom build or someone wanting to extract every ounce of power the vance and hines is not the way to go. Myself, I would prefer a stand-alone system and not a piggy back.

I had the same issues i had the dealer do the stage 1 download I ended up with all kinds of poping and the bike ran super hot I would suggest at the least get a PC III from somewhere if you buy it from Fuel moto they do offer different maps for as long as you own the bike or PC.

I have the Fuel Moto performance package, header, mufflers, AC and the PCV. I had decel popping after install and after half a dozen calls to FM and many map changes, problem still there. Took it to dealer who tuned it with dyno, problem solved. Runs perfect and gained a few ponies to boot over the FM map.
Good company to work with but canned mapping just couldnt get it done.
