Radios
I been thinking about orderingan 07 E G Standard. I have read some posts about radios. I'm sure I would use it if I paid what they want for one. Never thought I would want one but maybe now?
My question is, isthe radio option worth $1000 plus labor?
Is the stock model ok or am I going to have to get better speakers or upgrade it to enjoy it?
Can you hear itwellwearing a helmet?
At what speeds is it not an option to use?

I have the HD radio in my SG. Mine would skip when playing CD's until I did the first update. Since then I have not had any problems with mine at all. Used it all the to Sturgis and home. Is it worth $1000.00.....that depends on the person I guess. I am happy with mine.
Check out the Biketronics "Retro Radio" setup ... it's about half the cost of the OEM HK radio and works great with HogTune speakers that are part of the package. You can also add XM radio to the setup for an extra $99.

I went with the 07 Electra Glide Classic - was orignally looking at a Road King Classic - like the extras with the EG Classic. Made the tour pack detachable andadded a detachable passenger back rest for when I don't need the tour pack. Radio is nice to listen too going down the road - ussually play CDs - have no issues to date.
I never listened to the radio while riding until I got my Ultra. It's a neat feature to have, but I could take it or leave it.
With the automatic volume control feature, you can pretty much hear it at any speed through the helmet speakers. With a half helmet, I can hear the radio through the external speakers at speeds up to about 45 to 50.

The radio itself is worth it, but pass on the add ons. You'll never use the CB, and you can get external XM and GPS units for a fraction of the price of adding them to your factory radio. And as soon as you get your bike, take out the stock speakers and install Hogtunes speakers.
