Default Another Happy Ohlins Customer

I'm very happy that I found out about Howard Messner and Motorcyclemetal through HDForums. I love my 2011 Road King Classic with 103 cubes and Brembo antilock brakes. Everything about it is better than my old '03 Ultra except that I was unprepared for the punishing ride from the rear suspension. I hoped that Ohlins shocks would improve things. I called Howard and got a good feeling right away. He takes a personal interest in finding out his customer's needs and then recommends the right solution. When I received my shocks and needed to purchase a few tools to help ease the installation Howard even provided me the stock numbers to help me buy them. He guided me step by step through the installation which was much faster and easier than I expected.

The big surprise is how much different the bike feels now. The old shocks felt harsh AND weak. Now, the bottoming out is gone! The stability at speed and in crosswinds is much improved. It's more improved than I expected and I have a lot of experience with Koni and Bilstein Super Sport shocks.

So now I'm hooked. As soon as Howard develops the application for Ohlins forks for the front end of Touring models I'll be one of his first customers. Then my bike will live up to its name "Road King".

Good report. Getting that pre-load set correctly is the most important step. The compression and rebound damping adjustments are important as well, but secondary.

This product is so much better than stock I hate to compare them in the same sentence. There are reasons why Ohlins are the #1 shock in the world. Some would say they are too good to put on a Harley, but I disagree. My #6's made my bike a different machine. Enjoy.
