Default Passenger Volume control

Anyone know why the passenger volume control on the rear speaker doesn't work, all the other functions are working ? Or is it back to the stealer for some warranty work ?

It only controls the volume while in headset mode.

The passenger volume control is for the headset, not the speaker.

So if you turn it up using the radio controls not the thumb control your rear speakers work then?

FWIW,
Talking to the service advisor at my HD shop when I took in my '03 UC for trading in, he said the passenger speaker volume control won't (doesn't) work due to customer feedback to HD. It's built and designed that way.

But for some reason HD still makes the other button that the passenger can switch channels or stations

I learned something from a 13 year old post.
Thank you all - if you're all still alive.
I was changing rear speakers and thought I'd look into the wifes complaint.
I was checking the connections of that passenger right side volumn switch with the speaker out and using contact cleaner, about to do an audio system reboot when I searched here.
Problem (imagined problem really) solved.
The passenger can not control the radio volumn - only the headset communication volumn.
