I have been fighting with the dealer on purchasing a new SG. The price they are stuck at is $26,100 OTD. Now before anyone freaks out this includes $6,200 worth of add ons (actually they gave me 15% off accessories so total add ons is closer to $7,300.) The price for the bike itself is $18,500 it is vivid black cruise only. Is this price worth signing the papers or walking away from? Also is the abs, security option really worth the extra coin?
MSRP is $19,499 so $1,000 below is normal, you should get that anywhere. The guys here are right, you should ask for 30% off the accesories and settle for no less than 20%, again, pretty common practice. As far as the security/ABS, you'll get a bunch of opinions, but I think (at least the ABS) is worth every penny. So, yeah, you're getting a normal deal, not a great one, but they're not screwing you over either. Oh yeah, my dealer also gave me 20% off for a year after the purchase on everything I buy plus free bike washes forever, even on my other bikes .......
I think its pretty plain on HDforums that opinions on the value of ABS is subjective (even controversial).
To me, ABS is a personal must-have. I'm confident its saved me from a serious incident that would have easily maimed or killed. Security comes with the ABS option and cruise control is super handy as well...
Cant think of anything I'd spend the other $4800 on.
