Only 250 miles? How many tanks have you gone thru?? Thats just one tank for me if I'm cruising down the highway and keep it steady with the cruise control. Every blip of the throttle eats more gas.

Mileage will also go up a tad when the winter blend of gas is no longer in the pumps. Also, unless you aee already doing so, find non-ethanol gas to run.

I have noticed that the mileage gets better with the warmer temps.....and its not the fuel (at least here) as this area has 10% ethanol all year long...

ez69 mine is a twin to yours .went from black to white, RK to Ultra. White is sure easier to keep clean. I have 2000 miles on it and have gotten 40 mph when driven easy. Gets 38 mpg riding like I stole it. Love this bike!

After 3000 miles, I get about 40-41. Freeway and country two lane mostly. You should average out 3-5 tanks of gas. Hard to fill exactly the same every time. Taking a measure over several tanks will reduce the varation in fill level.

Would like to get better mileage but like the power and driving at freeway speeds. Its all about tradeoffs.

I have found that staying out of 6th gear, and keeping my cruising RPM @ 3,000 (regardless of gear) is where I get the best gas mileage on mine. So, at 70 mph I am @ 3,100 RPM in 5th gear... I hardly ever use 6th anymore... 3000 RPM in 6th would be 80 mph.
