Default lowering kit

I am thinking about using 13" shocks and a lowering kit (on my 09 sg) like LA choppers 1" (#LA-7590-00) but their ad states that it will not fit prior 2010 FLHX, anyone know why?, or has anyone done this same set up? La choppers say "not enough clearance". I have read how it will rub on the bags, but not too concerned about that. a side note:I run a detachable passenger backrest.

Although there are many that got their kit to fit properly, I had my shocks touch my bags. I ended up going with the Road6 kit (pic below) with good results.

Its clean, solid and a great value. Many are running these with great results. Side note, the shock angle changes too much if you go lower than one hole so check the shock angle to bag touch tollerance.

I saw a thread that with your style kit that the top of the shock to bind against the detachable backrest....deal breaker.

Just installed a similar kit on my '10 SG. Everything I read said to only drop it one inch. That's what I did and have had no clearance issues. My passenger backrest was a little tough to get on the first time. No issues after that.

UPDATE: spoke with la choppers their tech stated that they will fit but wiring harness in the rear fender will need to be relocated to prevent rubbing.
