I purchased an '00' with them on, then I purchased an '01', liked them so much that I transferred them to the '01'. Once you get used to seeing them, the front end of a HD looks too crude without them. My only concern was that they do limit the air movement around the rotors for cooling but I've been on the binders pretty hard at times with two aboard, coming down mountain roads etc, never noticed a problem. Possibly the dual rotor system is over-designed to begin with. Now more work changing front tire or brake pads though, but like most mods, you have to be willing to give up something to gain something.
They kind of remind me of the old baby moon hubcapsso I think of them as looking nostalgic. They seem to fit the wide whitewalls, too.Right now, I am thinking of doing something else to my front wheel. I just have not figured out what. Once I have it figured out,Imay have a set for sale. I like them, but it may be time to move on.
I think they are cheesy looking, are one more thing to rust and rattle and one more thing to take off to service your bike. I'd just polish my stock rotors. You can polish them out to look like mirrorswith about 5 bucks worth of sandpaper and a very little time.
I prefer the polished rotorsover the cover. They seem kinda Gold Wingish. Not that they look bad butthey seemmore popular on the Goldwingsthen Harleys....at least in my area.
I think they're a bit over the top. They look almost too clean.
Some how I have the feeling that you shoudn'thide your brakes. I'm not sure but there might be a coolingissue when they're covered.
I love the polished rotors though. Anyone an idea which grains of sandpaper I shoud use to polish my standard rotors?

I polish them using an attachement that fits in an electric drill. I use 3M Hook-It paper. It velcros on the backing pad. I start with about 320 and go up to 1800-2000. It is a very easy job, once you master not tearing your paper on the edges of the rotor.
