Update: I rode to work today with the stock winshield, the buffeting was still gone even at 90+ on the turnpike.
I still can't believe how well the fork deflectors work, I just wished they looked better or could be made out of clear plastic so there not so noticable.
The air (fork) baffle works great as a garage ashtray. For buffeting, forget about it.
I have a set of black fork deflectors on my Ultra and they're the cat's @ss.
Frenchie-
Which fork deflectors did you find that work with both the lowers and the stock passing lamps/turn signals on the ultra ?

The ones I use. I bought them from JES Customs. $100/set in glossy black.
They cut at least 1/2 of the buffeting I had before and they look good. Honestly, I'd prefer not to have them but they work well and they're much nicer than the chrome HD ones. They blend perfectly with my black fairing and lowers.

Initially I didn't like how they looked either, but now I don't really notice them. Mine are black as well and they blend in pretty well unless you're looking at the bike from straight-on. I think we tend to fixate on things like this after we install them, but as time goes on and we do other mod's then they're more or less forgotten. I don't think onlookers even notice them, I've never been asked about them.
One Saturday in March (17th), a lady in a Mercedes blew a red light and T-boned me on my left side as I rode through the intersection. She was prob. doing between 30-35, witnesses said. Totaled my '01 EGC with only 89K on it... that really pizzed me off... stage 2 motor, ran well for a bagger. Bike and I both wound up in the grass after sliding/rolling/flipping down the road, and through the gravel shoulder.
I settled up with my insurance co. on the bike (after threatening to sue them), took the money and bought an '09 ultra-the red one in my sig.
Last surgery was on my shoulder was 30 April, and I should start therapy next week for about 6 weeks..
That's why I have been on the forum so much lately... otherwise I would have been out eatin' bugs..
