Default Wish List

OK, here's your opportunity to give me some ideas...

My wife and I are looking at either the '07 FLHX or FLHTC. I can probably swing about $3K in extras immediately, so I'm trying to figure out what to do. Obviously, I'll want it to sound like HDs should, but don't want to drown out the radio. The wife will need a backrest and the appeal of the FLHTC is the tourpack that's included.

So, bearing these things in mind, what would you do to get started if you had a 3K allowance? I understand that all of this is personal taste, so don't be concerned about that. Just curious what everyone else would do.

I was looking at both of the same bikes. I went with the FLHTC. I would start with exhaust, (I did Rineharts) Air cleaner and a PCIII. Looking back I wish I would have had Wide White Walls put on right away also.

If your intention is riding with the wife I'd get the Classic. I have an SG and kinda miss the tourpack.

Get a PCIII or SERT, Ness big sucker, and Vance & Hines Ovals. All of that should cost you less than a Grand. Bike will sound and run great but not drown out the radio. One thing I'll mention is your taste will change over time as you own/ride the bike. What was cool one day might not be the next. So don't purchase the bike with alot of bling on it straight from the factory. Don't do a chrome front end or chrome transmission cover etc etc first thing. Just buy the bike ride it a few months then decide what direction you want to take it. In other words, don't spend 3K in extras in one day.....

Think......wife 1st. Get the back rest and everything for her 1st.

2nd get the pipes aircleaner and PCIII

3rd spend the rest in blink.

I would suggest not getting any of the follow at your dealership. Get on line and order and your $$$ will go farther.

Get the classic. Then add a fuel/ ignition management system like a PC III or Sert ( I have the PCIII), high flow air cleaner, and V& H Ovals. Nice sound and great performance over stock. Great comfort for rider and passanger plus classic HD design lines.

Appreciate all of the feedback. I'll check into comparisons of the PCIII and SERT on the Forum, as I'm not familiar enough about them right now. I had done a little looking into pipes and was considering the Hooker Tuned Flow Slip-ons. Any opinions about these over V&H or SE options?

A good set of pipes, stage 1 AC, and a PCIII will cost you 1,000.00 or so. A good dyno tuner another 300 or so. If you want to do so road trips with it, then get the FLHTC so you have the Tour Pack, and rear speakers. Replace the speakers with Hog Tune speakers, can not go wrong with them.
