Default Back rests

I took my backrest off yesterday for about a 30 mile ride, and it was completely different. I really didn't enjoy anything about that ride. Has anyone else who regularly rides with a backrest had the same experience?

I have done it when I knew I wasn't going but about 30 miles. But even then my back would hurt. So it's on all the time now.

I tried a backrest a couple of years ago. Didn't care for it.

I go back and forth with the back rest; sometimes it is on and like today, it is off.

I took a 100 mile or so ride a few days ago, in my hurry to leave I left the back rest at home. That will not happen again. Mine is the HD Adjustable model, from time to time I push down on the lever, the rest pushes into my back, and I just lean against it to get it where I want it, on the fly. Nice to change it up from time to time, I use it a lot solo, but two up it comes off. Glad I have it.

Coudn't ride without one! If you have a "bad" back, ......it's a must, at least for me it is.

I can't switch back and forth. It throws off my mojo. I either have to have it there, or not there full time. If I ride with it on for a long time then take it off, I have this weird false feeling of falling off backwards in my head. not to mention discomfort lol

When I bought my RK it came with a driver backrest. I tried it out on my trip to Canada and couldn't even last a full day riding with it on. I made room for it in a saddlebag and when I got back, it went to storage. It has now been adopted and given a new home on my uncles RK.

The only time I remove mine is when the wife rides with me. I would rather leave it on all the time, but it limits her room.
